Know Your Options

Recruitment events take place outside of Fall Formal Recruitment will be by invitation from participating sororities at the time and location of the sorority's choice. There is not a pre-assigned schedule nor will the Panhellenic Executive Council facilitate the invitation process.

Sororities that have additional roster spots are eligible to take extend bids to women in the spring semester. The exact sororities that meet this requirement will not be known until closer to the spring. Typically between 3-6 sororities will have available spots in their membership numbers.

Texas Tech DOES NOT have a formal or informal Spring Recruitment.
Chapters coordinate their own membership outreach during this time.

Panhellenic Interest Form

Throughout the year panhellenic collects information from CURRENT students interested in learning more about the Fraternity & Sorority Life experience. This information is passed along to chapters that currently have vacancies. Each chapter is responsible for contacting any interested student and offering initiations to membership events. Panhellenic Membership Information Session

In November, Texas Tech Panhellenic will host an information session for all current students interested in learning more about future membership opportunities. Each of the 12 sororities were present to offer additional information about their chapters and how to become involved.

After a brief presentation, you will have an opportunity to visit with women from each of the chapters we have on campus. While Texas Tech does not have a spring recruitment process for sororities we look forward to meeting you and answering any questions you may have about membership options available to you throughout the year!

Fall 2018 Formal Recruitment

Registration Opens: March 1, 2018
Move In: August 18, 2018 - You do NOT need to make accommodations for early move in.*
Recruitment Dates: August 19-25, 2018

*Exception: Chitwood and Coleman residents will need to schedule their move-in for Saturday, August 18th.

Additional information will be available starting in January 2018.

Panhellenic Extension - New Sorority 

Texas Tech Panhellenic will be welcome additional chapters in the future stay tuned for additional details. 

Membership Responsibilities

Sorority members have responsibilities that need to be met in order to maintain their membership in their organization.

Some of the responsibilities of membership include:

  • Regular meeting attendance
  • Participation in community service and philanthropic projects
  • Meeting financial commitments
  • Maintaining academic standards
  • Upholding the values of their organization

The rights of membership in a sorority last a lifetime. Some of the lifetime benefits of sorority membership include:

  • Joining your sorority's alumnae organization
  • The opportunity to meet new people wherever you live
  • Networking opportunities both personally and professionally
  • Activities such as philanthropy projects and reunions

2017 Bid Match Results

Once bids are matched on August 26th we post the results HERE. Please do not contact the chapters, as this is their time to celebrate their new member and prepare for classes start on August 24th.
